Norton Commando

I decided for my next project to veer away from different animals and challenge myself with one of my own hobbies.

The following is the start of the Norton Commando 750 Fastback which I am really enjoying.  I decided to go with this particular bike as I have always been a fan of Norton.

This project is being constructed in parts so that it can be bolted together once galvanised and powder coated.  So far it has swallowed up 200ft of steel and 60 hours and I would estimate will use at least another 400ft.

I'm progressing with the Norton as time/weather allows...photographs from January follow.  It's really starting to take shape mow I think.

The inclement weather keeping me away from the day job has allowed me the time to complete the tank, seat and springs... Looking more like a bike now but still a way to go.

I have had a push to get this completed as I am planning taking it to a local Motorcycle show at the end of June to have on display.  It will be at Haddo House, Hit the Road Motorcycle Show along with some of the other pieces I have made.  I'm really pleased with the way this is turning out.

1200ft of steel and i'm almost there.  We now have two wheels and handlebars.

Mission Complete...

Now all that remains is to take it to pieces again and sandblast and treat the metal and rebuild ready for the Stafford Bike Show at the end of April.  Anyone interested in seeing the bike in person will see it there...

Absolutely over the moon to have brought home the Best Trade Stand award from Stafford Bike Show this weekend.

Just adding some professional photographs which I had done of the bike before it had to go - no room at the Inn to store it :(
