Horses

This was my first creation inspired by my wife's love of horses. It enabled me to develop my technique, using a steel frame skeleton to create the likeness. I studied the horses anatomy to decide how I could translate this to steel.

 

I studied the proportion and began making the skeleton.

 

 

Gradually shaping and welding until the sculpture was complete.

 

 

This year I was struggling with an idea of what to give my wife for her birthday.  This is what I came up with and she absolutely loves it (phew...)
